THEME
Open theme, anything goes. Open to ALL fine art mediums (oil, acrylic, watermedia, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, digital art) except video.
 
CALENDAR
Show runs from February 13-March 17, 2019
JEPGs due by Friday, January 18
Notification of acceptance by Friday, January 25           
Work being shipped must arrive by Friday, February 8 and no sooner than February 4     
Reception on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 5-7pm                                        
Work being shipped back will during the week of March 25-29

AWARDS
Cash prizes for Best in Show $500, Best Use of Color $100, and Best Choice for Subject Matter $100
 
ENTRY FEE
$25 for first entry/$10 for each additional entry. You may enter up to 20 total. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance.
 
ELIGIBILITY
This call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional.
 
RULES
Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. Please submit only work that will be available at the time of the exhibit and will remain for its entirety. If the work does not fully reflect what is represented on the jpeg the Cultural Center reserves the right to eliminate it from the exhibition.

FRAMING
Framed work must be fitted firmly in frame with wire for hanging. No loose glass over mats. Gallery wrapped canvases are permitted. Poorly presented work will not be hung.
 
ARTWORK DELIVERY
Shipping, return shipping and a handling fees are the responsibility of the artist. Delivery instructions will accompany email notification of acceptance. Purchase of return shipping labels is the responsibility of the artist. All artwork must arrive by the scheduled receiving date.
 
JUROR
Canadian-born, Cape Cod based artist Jackie Reeves uses mixed media to bring together figurative and abstract elements in her art. She was raised in Montreal by architect parents and studied design art at Concordia University. Her artistic career began as a professional mural painter for corporate, private and public spaces. Concurrently, Reeves co-founded the Plymouth Community Art Center. In 2010 she earned her MFA in painting at Massachusetts College of Art and Design and has since exhibited in solo and group shows throughout Cape Cod and in Pennsylvania, Vermont, Washington DC and North Carolina. She has been profiled in numerous publications including the Boston Globe, Art New England, Artscope Magazine.  She is the 2016 recipient of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod's Fellowship award for Visual Arts and was selected by them to paint the 32nd annual Boston Pops by the Sea commemorative painting in 2017. ENTRY BY WEBSITE UPLOAD ONLY  
Entry is done through Art Call a web-based service that allows artists to upload images of their artwork for submissions to exhibits. To apply for a call, you must leave our website and go to the Art Call website at https://the-works.artcall.org where you can create a FREE artist account. You will add your details and upload your images to Art Call where your work will be submitted to THE WORKS.
 
FORMATTING
All images must be in JPEG format using Art Call guidelines. The image minimum length on the longest side: 960px, image maximum length on the longest side: 4600px. Maximum file size per image is 4mb.
 
SALES
All works should be for sale. Members of the Cultural Center are charged a 30% commission on all sales, non-members a 40% commission.
 
REGULATIONS
By submitting images, you agree that the images are your own work, you own all rights to the images, and you take full responsibility for the content of all images, including the likeness of recognizable individuals. The actual artwork will remain the property of the artist. The artists will grant copyright to the Cultural Center for display and promotional use.
